We are thrilled to announce that Alexis Crumel has been selected as the new Hawbridge Upper School Director!Â
Crumel stood out as an exceptional candidate early on. She recently served as Assistant Principal at Woodlawn Middle School where she was EC Chair, Testing Coordinator, and Title I Compliance Officer. Crumel also developed student schedules and launched a school wide reading intervention initiative. As the initiator of Capturing Kids’ Hearts at Thomasville Middle School, Crumel demonstrated her deep and ongoing commitment to restorative practices, which aligns with Hawbridge’s student-centered approach. Crumel’s references spoke about her steady demeanor and listening ear, and her distinct ability to lead with empathy, clarity, and excellent communication. Crumel is excited to become a part of a community that values these important attributes and has a relationship-first school culture. Crumel will begin her tenure with Hawbridge in early August.
The Board would like to thank members of the search committee for their service. Due to the focus and commitment of Director Hanna, Sara Walls, Natasha Caccavelli, Emily Martin, Ted Teague, Daniel Ayers, and Steckley Lee, as well as the faculty who attended open sessions and offered feedback, we were able to fill the Upper School Director position before the advent of the school year and, more importantly, with a qualified, capable, and inspiring candidate.
Sincerely,
Dr. Amanda Graham, Hiring Committee Chair, on behalf of the Hawbridge Board
