Say Something

Student Safety

The Say Something Anonymous Reporting System gives students and families a safe way to report concerns and help protect our school community.

The Say Something Anonymous Reporting System, also known as Say Something ARS, gives students, families, and community members a safe way to report concerns about violence, threats, bullying, self-harm, or another person who may need help.

Submit a Tip

If someone is in immediate danger or there is an emergency, call 911.

For a non-emergency safety or mental health concern, a report may be submitted anonymously through the secure Say Something reporting system.

You may also call the 24-hour crisis hotline at 1-844-5-SAYNOW (1-844-572-9669) or use the Say Something mobile app.

How the Program Works

Say Something teaches students and adults to recognize warning signs, take concerns seriously, and get help before a situation becomes a crisis.

  • Recognize warning signs and threats in person, online, in text messages, on social media, or through other forms of communication.
  • Act immediately and take the concern seriously rather than assuming someone else will respond.
  • Tell a trusted adult or report the concern anonymously through the website, hotline, or mobile app.

Reports are reviewed by trained crisis counselors, who may communicate anonymously with the person submitting the tip and share information with the appropriate school or emergency response team.

What Can Be Reported?

Concerns may include threats of violence, weapons, bullying or cyberbullying, harassment, fighting, substance use, social isolation, depression, suicide, self-harm, abuse, or another troubling situation involving a student or the school community.

You do not need to decide whether a concern is serious enough before speaking up. Share what you know so trained adults can determine the appropriate response.

Hawbridge’s Commitment

The Hawbridge School is committed to maintaining a safe, caring, and responsive learning environment. Students in grades 6–12 receive information and training about recognizing warning signs, seeking help from a trusted adult, and using the anonymous reporting system responsibly.

Say Something ARS also supports Hawbridge’s responsibilities under North Carolina General Statute 115C-105.51, which requires public secondary schools to provide an anonymous safety-reporting option.
