On Saturday, March 23, The Hawbridge School participated in the Central Piedmont regionals of National History Day. Lillian Morrison (far right, below) came in third in the senior individual website division. Her website is about the largest troop surrender of the Civil War, which took place at Bennett Place in Durham, NC. She’s going on to the state competition at the state archives and history museum in Raleigh on April 27, along with up to 20 other kids in her division (and up to 340 other projects total across eighteen categories). Nationals are the week of June 9-13, in College Park, MD. About 500,000 students participated at all levels of National History Day in 2018.
