Start With Hello Week, a biannual event sponsored by HawBuddies, Student Council, and Hawbridge Ambassadors, raises awareness about social isolation and educates students and the community on how to prevent it. Hawbridge will be participating in this national week of awareness during September which is also Suicide Prevention Awareness Month. We believe in the power of relationships and community at Hawbridge.
In celebrating our new students, and maintaining a sense of community despite remote learning, our student leaders will be hosting virtual lunch sessions with new students (new students should receive an email within the next week) Monday-Friday, and collecting student and faculty selfies to post on social media. We hope to familiarize students with new faces and remind everyone that we are a part of a community much larger than the one that we see daily in our Zoom Meetings or Google Classrooms.
Lastly, if you or a student you know is struggling mentally and/or emotionally please do not hesitate to reach out to Emily Martin (our school counselor), talk to a trusted adult, or submit an anonymous tip through the Say Something Anonymous Tip Line. Additional resources are included at the bottom of this post.
