Hawbridge Families,
As we transition into uncharted territories with our school’s expansion, we want to share some updates with you.
First, we will have some changes in our school leadership. The Lower School will be housed in our existing building and will consist of students in grades K-7. The Lower School will be led by Daryl Feldman. Mr. Feldman currently serves as the Assistant Director for Student Services at The Hawbridge School. Mr. Feldman will begin his role as Lower School Director on August 1, 2021.
Next, the Upper School will serve students in grades 8-12 and will be led by Jennifer Shelton and Emily Martin. Ms. Shelton currently serves as the Assistant Director for Curriculum and Instruction, while Ms. Martin has been The Hawbridge School’s only school counselor. Ms. Shelton will transition into her new role as Upper School Director on August 1, 2021. Ms. Martin will shift into her new role as Upper School Assistant Director, effective August 1, 2021.
Mya Ciccotti will continue as Hawbridge’s Executive Director—overseeing the expanded school of both the Upper and Lower Schools—as she has been pivotal in the ongoing success of Hawbridge’s current operations and impressive future growth.
We are also excited to announce the two school counselors, who will join our team on August 1, 2021. McKenzie Meservey will serve as the Lower School Counselor, and Zoë Nahatis will serve as the Upper School Counselor.
Lastly, as many of you know, the Upper School building will not be ready for occupancy in August. Therefore, we will utilize six portable classroom buildings, each containing two classrooms. These buildings will be located in the former student parking lot located on Mulberry Lane. We anticipate using the portable classrooms for the first semester, in hopes that construction of our new school will stay on schedule for occupancy in January 2022. We will continue to share additional updates throughout the summer.
