Congaree National Park is home to the nation’s largest expanse of old growth bottomland hardwood forest. The Congaree and Wateree Rivers cut through the park, creating a diverse ecosystem of plants and animals. We will spend our first day paddling through the park on Cedar Creek. This challenging paddle includes numerous portages and beautiful scenery. Our second day, we will hike into the backcountry for a night spent among some of the oldest and tallest trees on the east coast.
