As part of its commitment to being as interactive with its environment as possible, The Hawbridge School actively builds partnerships with community groups and organizations. The growing members of this group lend their time and expertise to the school, sharing a wealth of knowledge, information and experience with our students. The Hawbridge partnerships serve as a support network for students and teachers and allow the school to provide a wide assortment of learning experiences.
Once per month, students have the opportunity to have lunch with their friends at The Eddy Pub and enjoy great conversation while partaking in locally grown, seasonal dishes which includes an entree, sides, dessert, and a beverage. All students participating are strongly encouraged to wear business casual attire. Information about participation in this program is provided at the beginning of the school year.
Hawbridge partners with The Bridge Studio in the Rivermill Apartments to offer students a weekly opportunity in the middle of their school day to explore various forms of movement through Yoga, Tai Chi, and Pilates. Students also explore stress-management techniques through breathing and mindfulness exercises. Information about participation in this program is provided at the beginning of the school year.
Hawbridge Tours offers students the opportunity to explore such subjects as history, science and the cultural arts in a whole new dimension by touring regional historic and natural locations. Hawbridge Tours excursions for the 2016-17 school year will include Asheville, Charlottesville, Mount Airy and New Bern.
